Bay Gas Storage Company, Ltd. Announces Open Season.

Energy Editors/Business Editors

MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2004

In response to the increasing demands for high deliverability natural gas storage in the Southeastern US, Bay Gas Storage Company, Ltd. ("Bay Gas") is pleased to announce that it will conduct a non-binding "Open Season" for up to 5 BCF of natural gas storage services to help evaluate expansion of its facility located approximately forty miles north of Mobile, Alabama on the McIntosh Dome and its pipeline interconnects.

Bay Gas, a subsidiary of EnergySouth, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENSI), currently has two natural gas storage caverns with direct interconnects to Florida Gas Transmission, Gulf South Pipeline and Mobile Gas Service Corporation. The two caverns have a combined working gas capacity of 6 BCF with injection and withdrawal capacities of 200 MMcf and 610 MMcf per day, respectively. These capacities are fully subscribed on a firm basis. Based on the successful results of this Open Season, Bay Gas would proceed with plans to create a third natural gas storage cavern, expand its injection and withdrawal capacities and possibly add new receipt/delivery points to its system with Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation and Gulfstream Natural Gas System, L.L.C. The expected completion date for this expansion would be early 2007.

The non-binding Open Season will begin at 9:00 AM CDST on Thursday June 3, 2004, and end at 5:00 PM CDST on Friday, July 9, 2004. A completed Expression of Interest Form should be faxed by the close of the Open Season to the attention of David Hayden at (251) 478-5817. After the close of the Open Season, Bay Gas will evaluate the requests for service and discuss with the interested parties their submissions in an attempt to negotiate commercially acceptable terms resulting in the execution of binding Precedent Agreements.

For additional information related to this Open Season please contact David Hayden at (251) 450-4747 or E-mail at dhayden@bay-gas.com, Greg Welch at (251) 450-4749 or E-mail at gwelch@bay-gas.com, or visit our web site at www.bay-gas.com.
