Bay Area Residents Audition For Miller Lite TV Ad; El Sobrante and Novato Residents Win Roles.

 the 70 Bay Area residents who, despite the rain, enthusiastically auditioned Thursday, Feb. 15 for a role in Miller Lite's newest television commercial.

During the Miller Lite Miller Lite is the name of a popular pilsner beer sold by Miller Brewing Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a 4.2% ABV. Sibling beers include Miller Genuine Draft and Miller High Life.  Bay Area Casting Call held at Justin Herman Plaza from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. yesterday, auditioners were given 30 seconds to explain "why life is good" -- Miller Lite's Bay Area advertising theme -- for two roles in the newest commercial which focuses entirely on life in the Bay Area.

The two lucky winners of roles in the Miller Lite commercial were Allen Throolin, Jr. of El Sobrante who employed a myriad of impersonations to entertain the judges. The second winner, Kiara Haskins of Novato dazzled the crowd with her witty banter about life in the Bay Area. They were chosen because of their creativity and overall enthusiasm.

Next Wednesday, the winner will film their scenes in the commercial. Each winner receives Screen Actors Guild wages for their appearance.

"We wanted to involve Bay Area locals as much as possible in the Miller Lite commercial because the advertising campaign is about letting beer drinkers know that when they have Miller Lite and they're in their hometown, life is good," said Ann Treacy, marketing manager, Miller Brewing Co., Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. Miller Lite's Bay Area commercial will celebrate scenes and settings specific to the region and is scheduled to air this spring.
