The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce will host a Workforce Housing Workforce housing is a relatively new term that is increasingly popular among planners, government administrators and housing activists, and is gaining cachet with home builders, developers and lenders.  Summit: Creating Homeownership Opportunity to explore the pressing need to increase homeownership in San Francisco, the Bay Area, and other high-cost urban communities statewide. The all-day Summit is scheduled for Friday, April 26, in San Francisco.

Participants will examine the scope of the housing affordability crisis, explore the latest financing tools to help middle-income families move from renting to owning, and discover innovative strategies to create homeownership opportunities for working families. "Finding solutions to the critical shortage of housing for middle-income workers is essential to the continued economic stability and quality of life in San Francisco and other high-priced urban and suburban communities," said Roberta Achtenberg Roberta Achtenberg (born July 20, 1950) was the first openly lesbian or gay public official in the United States whose appointment to a federal position was confirmed by the United States Senate. , Senior Vice President/Public Policy at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. The summit is geared toward single-family and multifamily developers, lenders, large employers, small-business owners, investors, policymakers, architects, nonprofit housing development organizations, state agency officials, attorneys, labor representatives, and business groups.
