Bay Area Bank Announces Appointment of Frank M. Bartaldo Jr. as President and Chief Executive Officer.


REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1998--Dennis W. Royer, chairman of the board of Bay Area Bank, announced that Frank M. Bartaldo Jr. has been appointed to the position of president and chief executive officer of Bay Area Bank.

Bartaldo has been acting president of the bank since February of this year. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president and senior banking officer in charge of daily banking operations. Bartaldo has been with the bank since 1986 and was appointed to the bank's board of directors in February of 1996.

Bartaldo started his career in banking in 1972 at Wells Fargo Bank. He received his BS degree in Business Administration from California State University Enrollment
 at Chico in 1971.

Bartaldo, 50, is a long time resident of Foster City with his wife, Kathy, a teacher at Bowditch Middle School Nathaniel Bowditch Middle School, is a middle school in Foster City, California. It was built in the late 1960s, and makes use of the pod system of architecture that was popular during that time period. , and daughters Molly and Stacy, who attend the University of Arizona (body, education) University of Arizona - The University was founded in 1885 as a Land Grant institution with a three-fold mission of teaching, research and public service. .
