Bavosi, Schoof honored by human services agency.


GRAFTON - Two Worcester-area residents have been honored by HMEA, a nonprofit A corporation or an association that conducts business for the benefit of the general public without shareholders and without a profit motive.

James Bavosi of Grafton received the Board of Directors Award for his steadfast commitment to enriching the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Mr. Bavosi helps clients transition between school and work, by seeking out and connecting them with meaningful work and volunteer opportunities.

Phyllis Schoof of Spencer, a nurse for the agency, received the Team Award, given to employees who work together to provide structured and compassionate care to individuals with developmental disabilities. Ms. Schoof works especially hard to ensure that these individuals receive the highest quality health care.

The awards were presented in front of 350 HMEA staff, individuals with developmental disabilities, family members and volunteers at the 18th annual Awards Night program at the Doubletree Hotel in Milford Oct. 2.
