ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Bausch & Lomb, the global eye health company, has named Joseph Barr Joseph Barr is the name of:

In this newly created position, Dr. Barr is responsible for leading a team of clinical researchers, medical affairs and professional services professionals who deliver world-class products and service to eye care practitioners. Dr. Barr joined Bausch & Lomb in July 2007 as vice president, global research and development, Vision Care. Prior, he served as the associate dean for Clinical Services and Professional Program at The Ohio State University Ohio State University, main campus at Columbus; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1870, opened 1873 as Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1878. There are also campuses at Lima, Mansfield, Marion, and Newark.  College of Optometry optometry (ŏptŏm`ətrē), eye-care specialty concerned with eye examination, determination of visual abilities, diagnosis of eye diseases and conditions, and the prescription of lenses and other corrective measures. . From 1983 to 1998, he was chief of the Contact Lens contact lens, thin plastic lens worn between the eye and eyelid that may be used instead of eyeglasses. Actors, models, and others wear them for appearance, and athletes use them for safety and convenience.  Clinical Service, and was chairman of the Clinic Committee/Chief of Optometry Clinical Services from 1986 to 1996.

From 1987 to 2007, Dr. Barr was editor of Contact Lens Spectrum, holding one of the longest editorial tenures in healthcare publishing. He also edited the Contact Lens Today weekly newsletter.
