:MDU) announced that Bauerly Brothers, Inc. (Bauerly), a privately held contractor and construction materials company serving central Minnesota, has joined with, and become part of, Knife River Corporation, the construction materials and mining subsidiary of MDU Resources. Financial details of the merger were not disclosed. MDU Resources anticipates that the acquisition will be accretive to earnings per share.

Bauerly specializes as a general contractor in paving highways. The company has won national and state awards for its work as a general contractor. In addition, the company is a major supplier of ready-mixed concrete in central Minnesota. Bauerly also owns or controls large supplies of aggregates within its 24-county market area.

Bauerly's headquarters are in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota Sauk Rapids is a city in Benton County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 10,213 at the 2000 census. History
