Battlers stay on course for magnificent treble; RCD League.

TWO teams from the RCD See residual current device.  were involved in big games.

Heckmondwike put in a truly workmanlike display against Leeds-based Yorkshire Amateurs to book their place in the West Riding County Trophy Final.

A nervous Heckmondwike failed to show the flair which has taken them within touching distance of a League, League Cup and County Cup treble.

And for long periods of the first half the Charles Rice League leaders looked as though they might upset the dream, but a Craig Bentley goal five minutes before half time eased the tension in the Heckmondwike camp.

Heckmondwike looked much more comfortable in the second half and when Connor Thompson doubled their lead on the hour mark, there was only one winner.

Pudsey face Wilsden in the other semi-final to be played on Thursday.

Another RCD team in County Cup action were Gomersal.

The Second Division Under 12 side have put in superb displays this season to reach the semi-finals of the West Riding County FA Junior Shield, but the dreamfinally ended at the hands of Farsley Celtic.

Gomersal put up a valiant display but, after going a goal down in 15 minutes, the Spen Valley side were unable to recover and Farsley ran out 3-0 winners.

But RCD hopes for success in the Under 12s are not dead yet.
