Battle to save Briton.THE fiancAe of a Briton facing the death penalty in the US said yesterday campaigners will have to wait at least 18 months before there is any chance of his release. He will complete 19 years on Death Row on January 27. But following a complicated legal battle which almost saw Richey released last year, Ms Torley hopes that he may taste freedom within 18 months to two years. It hasn't got anything to do with evidence for the case." Ms Torley, 42, of Cambuslang, Glasgow, added: "The November decision was a kick in the guts. Kenny has tried to remain positive but he has had his hopes dashed so many times. Where he is, hope can be a dangerous thing."
