Battle Mountain Gold to Hold Shareholder Vote.

RENO, Nev. -- Battle Mountain Gold Exploration Corp. (OTCBB:BMGX) ("Battle Mountain") is pleased to announce that the company plans to hold a special meeting of its stockholders seeking approval of a planned merger with Royal Gold, Inc. (NASDAQ:RGLD) ("Royal Gold") on October 24, 2007. The special meeting will be held at the offices of Battle Mountain's attorneys at 800-885 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The record date for the special meeting has been set at September 26, 2007. It is anticipated that the closing of the transaction will occur as soon as possible after obtaining shareholder approval. The signing of the amended and restated merger agreement with Royal Gold was previously discussed in Battle Mountain's July 31, 2007 press release.
