Battery-operated Doppler.

Nicolet Vascular, Inc., announces that the FDA has cleared for marketing VersaLab, their new battery-operated, bidirectional Doppler with a built-in printer. The VersaLab lets clinicians perform basic Doppler testing almost anywhere. It weighs only 4.1 pounds (1.9 kg) and is battery- or line-operated for portability and convenience. Its built-in printer provides fast, complete, and accurate documented results. The printout has room for comments and is ready to submit for reimbursable studies and inclusion in patient records.

There are two models to choose from: the VersaLab SE, which is the first unit in its price range to offer color spectral analysis, and the VersaLab LE, with a simple black-and-white waveform trace for basic evaluation and documentation at a more economical price. The unit comes with either a bidirectional 4-MHz or 8-MHz frequency continuous wave Doppler transducer. Additional probes and accessories, such as a tilt-stand and carrying case, can be purchased.
