Batteries Plus was named the Best Supply Chain/Logistics Solution by a small- to midsize-retailer at the Retail Systems Expo in Chicago. The award was in recognition of the franchise's newly-implemented distribution model that supports market demand and promotes franchise growth. As part of the model, Batteries Plus launched a subsidiary, Ascent Battery Supply, to streamline sourcing and distribution of store merchandise. In addition, following nearly two years of strategic research and franchisee training, Batteries Plus completed converting all of its stores to a new point-of-sale and wide-area-network system, including a centralized database that houses all customer information.
