Baton Rouge Natural Gas Liquids Fractionator Commences Operations.


HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1999--

Baton Rouge Fractionators LLC announced today that its natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation fractionation /frac·tion·a·tion/ (frak?shun-a´shun)

The fractionation facility is located in Port Allen, La., across the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge. It has current capacity to fractionate frac·tion·ate

Mixed natural gas liquids intended for processing at the fractionation facility will originate primarily from natural gas processing Natural gas processing plants, or fractionators, are used to purify the raw natural gas extracted from underground gas fields and brought up to the surface by gas wells. The processed natural gas, used as fuel by residential, commercial and industial consumers, is almost pure  plants servicing production from deepwater developments in the Gulf of Mexico Noun 1. Most of the NGL products produced by the facility will be utilized in Mississippi River refineries and petrochemical plants.

Baton Rouge Fractionators LLC is a joint venture among affiliates of Exxon Chemical, BP Amoco, Williams and Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (NYSE NYSE

:EPD). Enterprise was the Construction Manager for the engineering, design and construction of the facility and will serve as the operator of the facility.
