Bath Iron Works Selects Tufts Health Plan; Maine's Largest Private Employer Chooses New England's Fastest Growing HMO.

) announced today that it has selected Tufts Health Plan as the exclusive health plan for its 7,300 employees and their families. Effective Jan. 1, 1998, Tufts Health Plan will gain 22,000 new members from the deal with BIW, which is Maine's largest private employer. The selection was made by a joint union and management committee, which considered a variety of other plans before making its selection.
