Sam Boyd Samuel A. "Sam" Boyd (April 23 1910-1993), born in Enid, Oklahoma, arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1941 with only $80 in his pocket. Host Mapleton defeated Eddyville 25-6, 25-8, 25-18 to improve to 2-1 in the West Division.

Reba Rice collected 10 kills and 10 digs and Janelle Raimer contributed 31 assists to lead host Lowell (4-0) past McKenzie 25-17, 25-15, 25-16. Katy Renee had five kills and 22 digs in the loss for the Eagles.

Eileen Smith served 10 aces and Chelsea Baszler had five aces and four assists to lead Mohawk over host Oak Hill 25-8, 25-11, 25-21.

Hannah Ross collected eight kills and four service aces to lead Triangle Lake to a 25-15, 25-9, 25-14 win over host Siletz Valley.

Stephanie Kau had 13 kills and 11 digs to lead host Crow over Alsea 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-13. Ashley Parson added 16 kills and seven service aces.
