On June 21, 2008, family and friends gathered for the marriage celebration of Mari Megan Bateman and Landon Keith Case at the Beach Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama Gulf Shores is a coastal city in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2000 census, the population was 5,044. However, since the year 2000, Baldwin County, Alabama as a whole, has experienced the fastest rate of population growth in the state, second only to Shelby .

 ceremony, which took place just before sunset, was held under an arbor covered with tropical flowers. Officiants were Dr. Jeffrey Doremus, uncle of the bride, and Rev. Mike Foster, uncle of the groom. Music was provided by Park Avenue of Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Kyle and Macie Bateman of Brookhaven, and the granddaughter of Marion Van and Janie Cooley of Brookhaven and (Ret.) Col. Scott and Shirley Bateman of Seminary.

The groom is the son of Mike and Lisa Jarancik and Keith and Christie Case, and the grandson of Nollie and Hilda Lewis and Lloyd and Lavelle Case, all of Brookhaven. His paternal great-grandmother is Alyce Porter of McCall Creek.

Tucked inside her bouquet was a baby bonnet/handkerchief that had been French hand-sewn by her maternal grandmother, Janie Cooley, and given to her at birth. The bride's jewelry consisted of diamond earrings and a diamond necklace belonging to her maternal grandmother.

Holly Bateman Crane and Brittany Bateman served their sister as matron and maid of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were Lacey Orr, sister of the groom; Kelly Doremus and Beth Ashby, cousins of the bride; Taylor Crane; and Kady King. The attendants wore aqua dresses and carried bouquets similar to the bride's. Honorary bridesmaids were members of the Mississippi State University Mississippi State University, at Mississippi State, near Starkville; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1878 as an agricultural and mechanical college, opened 1880. Immediately following the ceremony, guests traveled to the Island Room of the Beach Club for a reception hosted by the bride's parents. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner buffet and danced to the music of Park Avenue. Holly Bateman Crane serenaded her sister and new brother-in-law with a beautiful arrangement of "The Broken Road," which was the couple's first dance.

The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner A rehearsal dinner is a pre-wedding ceremony in Western tradition, usually held after the wedding rehearsal and the night before the wedding ceremony. The guests include the couple to be married and others who form the wedding party and may also include extended family and  Friday night at The Club Room of the Beach Club. Other weekend events included a spa-brunch given by Martin Elementary Teachers from Brookhaven.

After a trip to Antigua, the couple is at home in Starkville.
