Bata Shoe Company, Inc. announces the introduction of Bison(TM) OD PVC PVC: see polyvinyl chloride.

 workboots.

These new workboots provide superior comfort, safety and durability for users, along with a stylish olive green appearance popular with those engaged in gardening, landscaping and other outdoor activities.

In addition to its olive green color, the Bison(TM) OD features other elements of style and fashion not normally found in PVC workboots. Among its advanced sole features is much greater surface contact, which provides increased stability and comfort. The lowered toe spring design distributes weight better, thus reducing stress on the back. In addition, the boot's ribbed sole makes it more slip-resistant and reduces the risk of hydroplaning Hydroplaning and hydroplane may refer to:
  • Hydroplaning (tires), a loss of steering or braking control when a layer of water prevents direct contact between road vehicle or aircraft tires and the road or runway surface
on wet or muddy surfaces. The new tread patterns also channel out debris and increase traction.

In addition to the superior performance features of the sole, the Bison(TM) OD's snugger ankle fit reduces the likelihood of heel slippage Slippage

Notes:
Slippage is usually attributed to a change in the spread.

legs more easily, while the PVC compound used in the upper boot portion is more flexible - and hence more comfortable. An improved built-in arch support system provides users with all-day wearability.

Bison(TM) OD workboots have application in a wide variety of work environments, including nurseries, lawn and landscaping, farming and gardening. Boots are "unisex," available in men's full sizes 6 to 18 (women's equivalent fittings typically in sizes 6 to 8).
