Baskett to Retire -- Hawkins Appointed to Succeed as General Counsel and Secretary of Convergys Corporation.

), the global leader in integrated billing and customer care services, announced today that General Counsel and Secretary, William D. Baskett III, plans to retire on June 1, 2001.

Baskett became the general counsel and secretary of Convergys at its creation in 1998. Prior to his Convergys service, he served in that same role for Cincinnati Bell Cincinnati Bell is the dominant telephone company for Cincinnati, Ohio and its nearby suburbs in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. The parent company is named Cincinnati Bell Inc.  Inc. and for many years as a partner at the Frost & Jacobs law firm in Cincinnati.

Also today, Orr announced the appointment effective June 1, 2001, of current Associate General Counsel and Secretary, William H. Hawkins II, to replace Baskett. Hawkins joined Convergys last September 1 after a long tenure as a partner and chairman of the Executive Committee at Frost & Jacobs (now Frost Brown Todd Frost Brown Todd LLC is one of the largest law firms based in the Midwestern United States. It resulted from the 2000 merger of Frost & Jacobs LLP, a Cincinnati-based firm, with Brown Todd & Heyburn PLLC, a Louisville-based firm. ).

Baskett and Hawkins will work together over the next few months to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities.
