Celts led 14-9 at the end of an error-ridden first quarter, but a hat-trick of three-point field goals from Ben Potts saw Coventry nudge into a 29-26 advantage at the mid-way point.

But John Olinger, Travis Lay, Ed Baynes-Clarke, Joe Francombe, and Simon Payne retaliated in style and Crusaders logged a 14-3 run of their own to go into the final session with a 47-44 lead that was rapidly extended to a 12-point cushion.
