We've heard the radical right use these words, and worse, to describe our lives. But our same-sex love isn't some aberrant aberrant /ab·er·rant/ (ah-ber´ant) (ab´ur-ant) wandering or deviating from the usual or normal course. ab·er·rant adj. 1. human phenomenon--the animal kingdom loves gay sex. Illustrating that point is a new exhibit called "Against Nature" at Norway's Oslo Natural History Museum. The show features racy rac·y adj. rac·i·er, rac·i·est 1. Having a distinctive and characteristic quality or taste. 2. Strong and sharp in flavor or odor; piquant or pungent. 3. Risqué; ribald. 4. photos including a male giraffe giraffe, African ruminant mammal, Giraffa camelopardalis, living in open savanna S of the Sahara. The tallest of animals, giraffes browse in treetops at heights inaccessible to other leaf-eaters. A male may be 18 ft (5.5 m) from hoof to crown. mounting another, a pair of whales fencing with their penises, and two female apes rounding second base. There's also a softer, less-Showtime version of gay animal life--one photo captures two female swans warming a nest together. As far as we know, there's no law against that yet. |
