Baseball-Two-times All-Star Hunter signs with the AngelsLOS ANGELES, Nov 22 (Reuters) - The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a five-year deal with free-agent center fielder Torii Hunter. Although financial terms were not disclosed, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday the deal to be worth $90 million, the richest deal in franchise history. The Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals were also in the bidding for Hunter, a double All-Star who played his entire nine-year career with the Minnesota Twins. Hunter, a seven-times Gold Glove-winning outfielder, said the deal with the Angels was put together over the last several days. "These guys shocked me," the 32-year-old Hunter told a conference call with reporters. "I wanted to play with these guys. For me, they were one of the teams I was looking at, but I didn't know if they were looking at me. "We shocked the world. Now I'm an Angel. I'm going to hopefully finish my career as a Halo, and hopefully get about three (World Series) rings out of this thing." Hunter batted .287 with 28 homers and a career-high 107 RBIs in 2007, making the American League All-Star team for the second time in his career.
