MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2003

The CPCU Society, the premier association for more than 27,000 CPCU-credentialed insurance industry professionals, named baseball legend Cal Ripken, Jr., keynote speaker for its 59th Annual Meeting and Seminars.

Ripken will deliver the keynote presentation Monday, October 13 at 9:30 a.m. The Annual Meeting and Seminars will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the New Orleans Marriott, October 11-14.

During Ripken's presentation, "The Keys to Success," he will share his perspective on the attributes that lead to success in both sports and business. He will use relevant stories from his career as a shortstop and 3rd baseman with the Baltimore Orioles to illustrate examples on how to achieve success. A Q&A session with Ripken will follow the keynote presentation.

Ripken will share his insights on achieving success both in the office and on the field. As Ripken has said, "I traded in my baseball uniform for a business suit, but I have found that the same principles that lead to success on the baseball field also lead to success in the business world."

Ripken's keynote speech is one of the many educational and professional development opportunities featured at the CPCU Society's 59th Annual Meeting and Seminars. This year's theme is "Jazz Up Your Career," and the colorful "Crescent City," New Orleans, Louisiana, will be the backdrop. The meeting will feature two educational tracks.

The Property and Casualty Insurance Track includes seminars designed to teach attendees about current industry issues and allow them to earn Continuing Education credits. The Leadership and Career Development Track features educational seminars geared toward developing personal and professional success.
