Baseball: Woods goes deep twice as Dragons burn Giants

Tyrone Woods stole the show with a pair of two-run homers Sunday as the Chunichi Dragons handed the Central League leading Yomiuri Giants a 7-2 defeat.

Woods broke a 1-1 tie with his first shot to the stands in right in the third and went deep to the same direction with two out in the sixth, staking Chunichi to a 6-2 lead at Nagoya Dome with homers No. 28 and 29 of the season.

Kenichi Nakata (9-6) went the distance in his fourth complete game of the season, allowing two runs and eight hits with 10 strikeouts and one walk and posted a career-high ninth win. Satoshi Fukuda (5-5) took the loss.

Nakata, who drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the first to tie it, added a squeeze bunt to cap the scoring in the seventh. Lee Byung Kyu chipped in with a solo blast in the fourth.

Tomohiro Umetsu ((2-2) got the win in relief and Katsuhiro Nagakawa worked the ninth for his 20th save. Masataka Endo (2-5) was charged with the loss.

Aaron Guiel had a two-run drive followed by Masakazu Fukukawa's three-run shot that put Yakult ahead 5-2 in the sixth before Hiroshima's rally.
