Barry turn to Johnson for Rangers cup clash.


RICHARD Johnson returns in goal for Barry Town for tomorrow's Welsh Cup The Welsh Cup is a knock-out football competition contested annually by teams from Wales.

The Football Association of Wales is the organising body of this competition, which has been run (except during the two World Wars) every year since its inception in 1877-78.

The winning goal went past Harris via a defender when a cross deflected into the net off right-back Jason Davies.

Barry manager Gavin Chesterfield also recalls Ron Blatchford, who has re-signed for Barry from Bridgend Town.

For their part Ely Rangers make the short trip from their Stanton Road, Wenvoe, home to face neighbours Barry, while Ton Pentre visit Porthcawl Town.

Barry have Ian Jones, Zak Misbah and Nana Baah vying for places in attack.

Pontyclun are at home to Goytre FC tomorrow, having been re-admitted to the competition after Tredegar Town were expelled for fielding an ineligible player during the last round.

Caerau Ely, where former Cardiff City player Jeff Eckhardt Jeff Eckhardt (born 7 October, 1965) is a former English professional footballer. A centre-half, he was highly regarded by fans both for his commitment and footballing skills.  is manager, are at home to Bettws, while title-chasing Goytre United entertain Pentwyn Dynamos.

Dinas Powys travel to play Hay St Mary in the Welsh Cup, while Pontypridd Town take on Newport Civil Service at Ynysangharad Park.

Pontardawe Town are at home to Presteigne St Andrews, while Cardiff Bay Harlequins go to Treharris Athletic Western.

There are only two Welsh League fixtures tomorrow and both are in Division Two.

They are Maesteg Park v Llanwern and Tredegar Town v Cwmbran Town.
