Barry Sanders Barry Sanders (born July 16, 1968) is a Hall of Fame and Heisman Trophy winning American football running back who spent his entire professional career with the Detroit Lions of the NFL. , executive counsel at Latham & Watkins who is chairman of the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games, wants to bring the Olympics back to Los Angeles in 2016.

"This is teed up in the near future, so we're not too early on this," he said, noting that the U.S.-Olympic Committee has to select one city by 2007, if L.A. plans to bid at all.
