Barry Island (Welsh: Ynys y Barri) is a district and peninsula forming part of the town of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It is named after the 6th century Saint Baruc. train station. The scheme is seen as an important part of a drive to boost links between the resort and Barry Waterfront. Electoral divisions The county is divided into 23 electoral wards returning 47 councillors. has set aside pounds 350,000 towards the scheme, and has applied to the Department for Transport for the remaining pounds 250,000. Experts who carried out a study of the existing bridge said it had reached the end of its economic life and should be replaced "at the earliest opportunity."
