 Business and Financial Weekly, "continues to be the strongest overall performer in a very competitive business/financial category." Barron's was named in Capell's Annual Top Ten Performer List, released last week. This is Barron's second consecutive year appearing as a top ten performer; the magazine has been featured on the list a total of seven times. Barron's was also named in the Capell's Best of the Decade report released in January 2000.

The following factors were cited in naming Barron's to the Best Performers in Circulation List for 2000:
-- Barron's raised its cover price in 2000, and still increased units sold
while improving percentage of magazines sold at newsstands to an incredible 62%
-- all despite an overall slump in single copy sales for magazines;

-- Approximately 50% of Barron's subscriptions are sold at basic price, even
though the magazine has a relatively high annual subscription fee of $145; and

-- Barron's increased ad pages yet again in 2000, while still maintaining
steady circulation growth.
