1. killing microorganisms or suppressing their multiplication or growth.

2. an agent with such effects.
 barrier dressing, ACTICOAT[TM] Moisture Control, which complements the company's existing ACTICOAT line. It delivers antibacterial antibacterial /an·ti·bac·te·ri·al/ (-bak-ter´e-al) destroying or suppressing growth or reproduction of bacteria; also, an agent that does this.
