Barney's Co-op goes West.

The leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo, Vice Chairman, and Joseph A. Aquino, Managing Director, of Garrick-Aug Worldwide, Ltd. represented the landlord in leasing the retail space at 2139-2157 Broadway, between 75th and 76th Streets, to Barney's Co-Op for its first ever Upper West Side store.

The 20-year lease is for approximately 10,000 square feet on two levels and features an impressive 75 feet of street frontage. Cosmetics Plus, New World Coffee and Eye to Eye previously occupied the space.

"This deal is exciting, not only for Barney's Co-Op, but for all of the people who live and work on the Upper West Side," explains Ms. Consolo. "The Co-Op is just what the name implies: a co-operative of ultra hip designers and vintage brands under one roof, displaying the latest and greatest in trendy clothing

shoes, accessories and cosmetics. Now, those who want to enjoy the concept store won't have to trek downtown to the Chelsea flagship."

Elaborating on the deal, Mr. Aquino says, "This is an excellent location for the retailer, who chose the Upper West Side neighborhood because of its savvy customers, great demographics, eclectic mix of retailers and forever foot traffic."

"Westsiders have traditionally been known as 'foodies' and people come to this sought-after neighborhood from all over the tri-state area There are a number of places in the United States known as tri-state areas where three states or holdings meet at one point (a tripoint), or in proximity to each other. The two most well-known are for the New York and Chicago metropolitan areas.  with the quest of finding the finest foods," says Ms. Consolo. "Now, they will have the best of foods and the finest of shopping in one corridor. All of the high-end food retailers can be found here, from Fairway Market on the South end of the block to Zabar's on the North, and Citarella right in the middle."
