Barnes Aerospace Obtains Final Nadcap Certification for Special Processes in Ogden, Utah.

BRISTOL, Conn. -- Barnes Aerospace, a business of Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE: B) and global provider of manufacturing solutions and comprehensive component overhaul and repair services, has received its sixth and final Nadcap certification for special processes at its new Ogden, Utah facility. The facility, which opened in September 2008, now is certified in heat treating, materials testing laboratory, nondestructive testing, nonconventional machining and surface enhancement, welding, and chemical processing, which is the most recent certification.

Nadcap is the global quality assurance program for special processes and products in the aerospace industry and is administered by the not-for-profit Performance Review Institute. The division held certifications for these six processes at its former facility and was re-audited to ensure the new facility remains compliant with aerospace standards.

As part of its investment strategy for the new 165,000 square-foot building in Ogden, Barnes Aerospace expanded the Division's chemical cleaning capabilities, creating a separate chemical cleaning section that includes a new automated crane system as well as seven new oversized chemical tanks that allow chemical cleaning of very large parts.
