Barnes & Noble to Open New Superstore in Camp Hill, PA; 25,000-Square-Foot Store Scheduled to Open in the Camp Hill Mall in the Fall of 2000.

Barnes & Noble, Inc., the nation's largest bookseller, today announced it has signed a lease agreement to open a new superstore in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. The new 25,000-square-foot Barnes & Noble store, located in the Camp Hill Mall at South 32nd Street and Trindle Road, is expected to open in the fall of 2000.

"Customers at the Camp Hill Barnes & Noble will have the opportunity to explore a large selection of books in every imaginable subject. In addition to the books on the shelves, the store will offer in excess of one million titles, usually shipped from our distribution center within 24 hours, either to the store or to your home."

In a spacious and comfortable atmosphere, the store will carry an extensive selection of book titles in a wide range of subjects, many from thousands of small, independent publishers and university presses. A significant percentage of the titles are unique to each store, reflecting the local lifestyles and interests of the community.

The Camp Hill store will also have a large collection of children's books in an area designed especially for kids; a music department with especially comprehensive selections in classical music, opera, jazz and blues; and a video section. In addition, it will feature a Barnes & Noble Cafe, serving in a classic bistro setting Starbucks coffee, cappuccino, espresso; the full-leaf teas of The Republic of Tea; cold drinks; and a variety of reasonably priced gourmet sandwiches and desserts.

The store's staff will develop an ongoing calendar of events, including poetry readings, book discussion groups, author signings, and children's story-telling hours, often featuring special guests. The events are designed to respond to the specific interests of the Camp Hill community.
