Barnes & Noble to Open New Store at 8431 Brier Creek Parkway Raleigh, North Carolina; New Bookstore Debuts on October 8.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 2003

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world's largest bookseller, will open a new 23,000-square-foot bookstore on October 8 in the Brier Creek Commons at 8431 Brier Creek Parkway in Raleigh, North Carolina. The store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. The new Raleigh Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, and employ approximately 60 people from the community.

The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Raleigh Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, October 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit the Leesville Road Elementary School. The featured musical guest will be Rodie Ray. She and her band have shared the stage with Grammy award winners Sarah McLachlan and Bonnie Raitt. Clifford the Big Red Dog also will be on hand to entertain children.
