Barnes & Noble to Open New Store at 3049 William Street Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

New Bookstore Debuts on October 25

NEW YORK -- Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world's largest bookseller, will open a new bookstore on October 25 in West Park Mall at 3049 William Street, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Concurrently, the existing store at 3035 William Street will close. The new store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. The new Cape Girardeau Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Hours for the Barnes & Noble Cafe will be 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. The new store will employ approximately 40 people from the community.

The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Cape Girardeau Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, October 24, from 6 to 11 p.m. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit the Southeast Missouri Regional Professional Development Center (Southeast RPDC), which provides professional development to area schools. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. with Jay Knudtson, mayor of Cape Girardeau, and Cheri Fuemmeler, director of Southeast RPDC. Local author and lawyer David Limbaugh will sign copies of his books, including his most recent release, Bankrupt, at 7 p.m. Central Middle School librarian Vickie Howard will host interactive Storytime, featuring Ms. Frizzle's Adventure series, at 6:30 p.m. Local musician J.C. Harris will play piano and sing throughout the evening.
