Barnes & Noble to Open New Store at 2501 West Happy Valley Road, Phoenix, Arizona; New Bookstore Debuts on April 6.

NEW YORK -- Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world's largest bookseller, will open a new 25,000-square-foot bookstore on April 6 in the Happy Valley Towne Center at 2501 West Happy Valley Road, Phoenix, Arizona. The store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. The new Happy Valley Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, and employ more than 40 people from the community.

The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Happy Valley Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, April 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit the North Valley Regional Library. Local author Marshall Trimble will participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. The jazz band from Sandra Day O'Connor High School will provide music throughout the evening. For the children, story times will be held at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Costume characters, Clifford the Big Red Dog and The Cat in the Hat, will be on hand to meet their fans.
