Barnes & Noble to Open New Store at 190 Cedar Sage Drive Garland, Texas; New Bookstore Debuts on October 5.

NEW YORK -- Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world's largest bookseller, will open a new bookstore on October 5 in the Firewheel Town Center at 190 Cedar Sage Drive, Garland, Texas. Concurrently, the existing store at 501 South Plano Road, Richardson, Texas, will close. The store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. The new Firewheel Town Center Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday and employ more than 50 people from the community.

The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Firewheel Town Center Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, October 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit the Reach Out and Read program, Parkland Health & Hospital Systems, Garland, Texas. Classical folk singer and cellist Sara Donaldson and musical group Mission to the Sea will provide entertainment throughout the evening. David Chicken, the children's entertainer, will perform. Costume character, Clifford the Big Red Dog, will also be on hand.

--Giant Newsstand. The store's newsstand stocks over 2,000 titles, including hundreds of hard-to-find specialty magazines, out of town and even foreign newspapers.

--Wi-Fi Service.
