), the world's largest bookseller, announced it has signed a lease agreement to open a new Barnes & Noble bookstore in Fairview Heights, Illinois Fairview Heights is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The population was 15,034 at the 2000 census. Geography

The bookstore, expected to open in March 2007, will be located at a newly developed shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  to be known as the Shoppes at St. Clair Square located at the northeast corner of Lincoln Trail (Route 13) and Highway 159. RedDotNet enables customers to listen to any CD in the store, sampling up to 200,000 music titles by simply passing it under a scanner. Connected to the company's online electronic music catalog, the store's listening stations make "browsing with your ears" a reality.

--Giant Newsstand. The store's newsstand stocks over 2,000 titles, including hundreds of hard-to-find specialty magazines, out of town and even foreign newspapers.

--Wi-Fi Service.
