The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Bowie Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, November 13th, from 6 to 9 p.m. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit the Prince George's County Literacy Council.

The Barnes & Noble Customer Service Counter enables customers to order books at the store and have the order completed through Barnes & Noble.com for delivery to their home, office or to a friend. Readers' Advantage, Barnes & Noble's new membership loyalty program, offers additional discounts and benefits at the new Bowie Barnes & Noble. For a $25 annual fee, members will receive an additional 10 percent discount at the store and an additional five percent discount at Barnes & Noble.com. The program benefits also include invitations to members-only events.

"Barnes & Noble is dedicated to providing the kinds of services our customers want in a relaxed and welcoming environment," said Jennifer Hogan, the store manager for the new Bowie store. "As a community institution, these services involve an ongoing calendar of exciting, free events, including poetry readings, book discussion groups, author signings, and children's story-telling hours, often featuring special guests, all designed to respond to the specific interests of the community of Prince George's County."

The store's music department will offer more than 25,000 compact disc, video and DVD titles. Its Red Dot electronic music catalog catalog, descriptive list, on cards or in a book, of the contents of a library. Assurbanipal's library at Nineveh was cataloged on shelves of slate. The first known subject catalog was compiled by Callimachus at the Alexandrian Library in the 3d cent. B.C. , a touch-sensitive customer kiosk, features information on the actual location of CDs in the store. Listening stations will be available for customers to preview selected recordings. The store will also feature a Barnes & Noble Cafe, serving in a classic bistro setting Starbucks coffee, cappuccino cap·puc·ci·no
