Barking dog led police to scene.

 began checking woods at Harrowdown Hill.

The collie collie, breed of large, agile working dog developed in Scotland during the 17th and 18th cent. It stands from 22 to 26 in. (55.9–66 cm) high at the shoulder and weighs from 50 to 75 lb (22.7–34 kg).  ran to a tree then came back to her barking.

Louise told the inquiry: "I could see a body slumped against the bottom of the tree.

"He was at the base of the tree with his head on his shoulder.

"His legs were straight in front of him, his right arm was to the side, his left arm had a lot of blood on it.

"He was dead and there was nothing I could do."

PC Dean Franklin told Lord Hutton two paramedics at the scene "pronounced life extinct at 10.07am".

Search team leader PC Martyn Sawyer, said Dr Kelly had walked as far as he could before undergrowth and brambles became impenetrable.

His wristwatch was on the ground, next to a four-inch knife and a small opened bottle of mineral water.
