Morning Fresh, which is designed for dishes, beat a host of household names when used to get rid of stubborn marks on carpets.

A test by consumers' magazine Which? found the 78p bottle was better at removing red wine, Ribena and blood than specialist Bissell Carpet and Upholstery upholstery, general term for household fittings, hangings, curtains, cushions, and covers. It refers to stuffed, padded, and spring-cushioned furniture, such as chairs and sofas, or to the usually decorative materials and fabrics that cover them.  Cleaner, which costs pounds 6.70.

And the watered down washing-up liquid was just as good as top brands such as Vanish, 1001 and De-Solv-It.

Which? said their tests showed that cheap spray cleaners from Sainsbury's and Tesco outclassed out·class
