Bard Acquires Dymax Corporation.

) announced today the acquisition of Dymax Corporation, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Dymax products include the Site-Rite(R) ultrasound product line, TM18 ultrasound scanners, probes, needle guides and other accessories. The Dymax product line will be sold through Bard's Access Systems subsidiary located in Salt Lake City, Utah For ships of the United States Navy of the same name, see .

Longfield, chairman and chief executive officer, commented, "Without this real-time visualization technology, needle sticks are done blindly with the use of anatomic landmarks as the only guide. Multiple sticks are time consuming, can cause vessel damage and upset patients." Longfield continued, "The Site Rite product will enable Bard Access Systems to fortify its strong market position in the global vascular access market. Providing ultrasound access guidance to our customers will be a valued addition to our product line."
