Barbie(R) Doll Soars to New Heights in New Original Princess Tale and 3-D Enhanced Movie.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- With five chart-topping films under her hit-making belt, Barbie(R) doll returns to the small screen this fall in the Barbie(R) brand's highly anticipated, new original princess tale and 3-D enhanced, animated film, "Barbie(TM) and the Magic of Pegasus." Since 2000, Barbie(TM) has become an entertainment powerhouse and a family favorite among home DVD collections with four princess films, including "Barbie(TM) in the Nutcracker," "Barbie(TM) as Rapunzel," "Barbie(TM) of Swan Lake" and "Barbie(TM) as the Princess and the Pauper." The Barbie(TM) princess movies are distributed by Lions Gate Family Entertainment in the U.S./Canada and Universal Pictures International in the international markets. This fall's DVD -- the fifth in the princess collection and sixth overall -- is the Barbie(R) brand's first-ever to include scenes in 3-D. It's also Barbie(R) doll's first-ever original princess story, casting her as the courageous Princess Annika(TM). Set amidst the fluffy clouds of the exquisite Magical Cloud Kingdom(TM), "Barbie(TM) and the Magic of Pegasus" is scored primarily based on Beethoven's Sixth Symphony and features the beautiful motion-capture figure skating of Canadian skaters Jessica Miller and Ian Moram. In addition to the animated movie, an entire line of products including princess dolls, winged horses and playsets will intrigue girls and help bring this enchanting new tale to life at play.

"Barbie(TM) and the Magic of Pegasus" sends Barbie(R) on an adventure with a new set of pals, including: Brietta(TM) the Pegasus, a magical flying horse; Rayla the Cloud Queen(TM), the kind and gentle ruler of the Magical Cloud Kingdom(TM); Cloud Princess(TM) Kelly(R), the tiny princess who "paints" the sunset; and Prince Aidan(TM), the rugged, handsome love interest of Barbie(R) doll's character, Princess Annika(TM).

Continuing the tradition established in Barbie(R) doll's first four princess movies, this beautiful film allows girls to experience a wonderful princess tale through characters and music they can relate to. To help spread the magic to young girls everywhere, Mattel partnered with teen pop sensation and Universal recording artist Brie Larson to produce "Hope Has Wings," the beautiful end credit track in "Barbie(TM) and the Magic of Pegasus." A life-long Barbie(R) fan, Larson's lyrical voice whisks girls away with the message that hope has wings to carry you, and anything is possible. A music video featuring Brie Larson performing "Hope Has Wings" appears as a bonus feature on the movie's DVD. In stores in the U.S. and Canada today, the DVD's suggested retail price is $19.98 and includes four pairs of 3-D glasses. The VHS version also retails for a suggested price of $19.98 but does not include 3-D enhanced scenes or 3-D glasses.
