Barber asked for more info in bankruptcy filing.Fayetteville developer Brandon Barber answered questions about his assets and liabilities last week at the first meeting of creditors since he filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy on July 31. Barber's personal bankruptcy filing lists liabilities of $53.2 million and assets of $90,788 in personal property. Trustee John T. Lee asked Barber for the bank records for a checking account associated with his company NWARE LLC, which Barber lists as his current employer. Barber said he is not drawing a steady income from the company. Lee also asked for a detailed list of assets, values and liabilities associated with each entity that Barber owns an interest in as well as his tax returns from 2008. The handful of creditors at the meeting asked few questions of Barber. Doug Gramling, representing Bellagio LLC, which holds a $125,000 gambling debt against Barber, asked about Barber's past employment with the Bank of Elkins and Community Bank. Bill Clark, an attorney representing Arvest Bank, asked Barber what happened to his proposed hotel development in Nashville, Tenn. Barber said he never bought the land for the hotel and had no physical assets tied to the project. The meeting of creditors will be continued in October. |
