Barbara V. Augustus.


SHREWSBURY Barbara V. Augustus, 75, formerly of North Quinsigamond Ave., Shrewsbury, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Life Care Center of Auburn Auburn (ô`bərn).

1 City (1990 pop. 33,830), Lee co., E Ala.; inc. 1839. The city's economy centers around Auburn Univ.; there is some manufacturing.

2 City (1990 pop. 24,309), seat of Androscoggin co.
 after a long illness.

She leaves two brothers, Edward M. Augustus of Worcester and George A. Augustus of Lake Orion, Mich.; and six nephews and nieces, Edward M. Augustus Jr., Michael Augustus, Heather Augustus, George A. Augustus Jr., Timothy Augustus and Randy Augustus.

Barbara was born in Boston, daughter of Megas and Violet (Keen) Augustus and lived in the Worcester area most of her life. She graduated from South High School, Worcester.

She worked in the processing center at Worcester County National Bank and later Shawmut Bank for many years, before retiring. Previously, she worked for the New England Telephone Verizon New England, Inc., formerly New England Telephone & Telegraph Co., is a Bell Operating Company that serves the majority of New England. It is an operating unit of Verizon Communications.

Barbara had a passion for baseball and was a devoted lifelong fan of Joe DiMaggio Noun 1. Joe DiMaggio - United States professional baseball player noted for his batting ability (1914-1999)

. She also enjoyed travelling and spending time with her many close friends.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
