Barbara Loeb.


ACEI is saddened to report that longtime ACEI member Barbara Loeb, of New Orleans, Louisiana, has passed away. Loeb has been described as a pioneer of early childhood education. She was the founder of Children's Place Preschool. Loeb began her career teaching in New Orleans public schools New Orleans Public Schools is a public school district that serves all of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The school district is governed by the Orleans Parish School Board. . She went on to start preschool programs at Louise S. McGhee School and the Gates of Prayer Synagogue. She later owned and operated Children's Place Preschool, which was the first Louisiana school to be accredited accredited

recognition by an appropriate authority that the performance of a particular institution has satisfied a prestated set of criteria.
