Barbara L. Rambo and Christine Garvey Join UnionBanCal Board of Directors.


SAN FRANCISCO -- Barbara L. Rambo, a director and vice chair of Nietech Corporation, and Christine Garvey, formerly the global head of corporate real estate and services for Deutsche Bank AG, have joined the board of directors of UnionBanCal Corporation and its primary subsidiary, Union Bank of California Union Bank of California is one of the 30 largest commercial banks in the United States. It has 327 branches, the majority of which are in San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. , N.A.

Rambo, currently a director of Pacific Gas and Electric Corporation, held executive positions in the financial services and technology sectors prior to Nietech Corp., most recently as the CEO of OpenClose Technologies, a financial services company for the mortgage banking industry. Garvey, who retired from Deutsche Bank AG in 2004, was the global head of worldwide real estate and workplace resources for Cisco Systems. Earlier, she held the post of group executive vice president and head of commercial real estate services for Bank of America and senior level positions at other major financial institutions.

She received her law degree from the Suffolk University Law School The law school currently has both day and evening (part-time) divisions. The school is located in the newly built Sargent Hall on Tremont Street in downtown Boston. There are over 200 upper level electives offered at the law school, and the school is consistently ranked one of the most  in Boston and her bachelor's degree from Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles. A member of the Massachusetts and the Vermont Bar Associations, Garvey began her career as an attorney specializing in corporate real estate and probate law.

Garvey is a member of the board of directors for the Hilton Hotels and Prologis and a former board member for Pacific Gulf REIT REIT
