Bar to toast new tenant?


A TOWN centre pub is seeking a new tenant.

 Craig Isaacs has placed the lease of Isaac's Bar at Cross Church Street, Huddersfield, on the market with the Leeds office of licensed property agents Christie + Co. The agent is seeking about pounds 75,000 for the leasehold An estate, interest, in real property held under a rental agreement by which the owner gives another the right to occupy or use land for a period of time.

Mr Isaacs opened the bar in 2003 and the venue was refurbished two years ago. The bar has also received a seven-day-a-week 6am licence to provide additional appeal to prospective purchasers.

The stone fronted, two-storey terraced property includes an open bar to seat 32 customers, a fully-equipped catering kitchen and three-bedroom owner's accommodation.

Jonathan Booth, ofChristie +Co in Leeds, said: "Isaac's Bar is firmly established on Huddersfield's main 'drinking circuit'.

"Mr Isaac refurbished the bar just two years ago and has now decided to sell the bar in order to spend more time with his young family."

Mr Booth said Isaac's Bar attracted a loyal local trade from students and residents and benefited from its location next door to Revolution Bar.

He added: "The catering kitchen offers an additional avenue for income and could further the daytime trade by harnessing the coffee culture and midday drinkers and diners Diners can mean:

."

Christie +Co is seeking offers in the region of pounds 75,000 for the leasehold interest in Isaac's Bar. The current annual rent is pounds 42,260 and the landlord is Punch Taverns Punch Taverns plc (LSE: PUB) is the largest pub and bar operator in the United Kingdom, with around 9,500 tenanted and managed pubs. It is headquartered in the traditional brewing centre of Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire. The current CEO being Giles Thorley. .
