In addition to the introduction of 32-bit applications for Windows 95, the product also includes a high performance Windows 95 VxD TCP/IP Kernel and full support for the Windows Sockets V1.1 API. The TCP/IP Application Suite 2.0 is enhanced for seamless network and batch installations, and backward compatibility with existing systems with support for EBanyan, IBanyan, SCO ANSI terminal emulation, and the PC/TCP applications programming interface.

"The TCP/IP Application Suite is a comprehensive, turnkey solution for any Banyan environment that requires easy access, simple installation and maintenance and the lowest system overhead available for their IP internetworking and Internet access applications," said Nancy Horan, Banyan's product manager for TCP/IP applications. "It not only provides all of the core applications in a single package, it is tailored to the needs of Banyan users who require features such as secure HTTP, VT320 scripting, SLIP/PPP dialer, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Software that automatically assigns temporary IP addresses to client stations logging into an IP network. It eliminates having to manually assign permanent "static" IP addresses. DHCP software runs in servers and routers.  kernel support, multi-platform support and backward compatibility along with excellent technical support."

The TCP/IP kernels that are bundled at no additional cost provide support for the industry standard NDIS (Network Driver Interface Specification) A network driver interface from Microsoft. See network driver interface.

Banyan VIP Plan holders may purchase the new version of the TCP/IP suite at a discount from the normal price. Banyan TCP/IP Applications Suite 1.0 users may also upgrade for a special discounted price. Users who purchased the TCP/IP Applications Suite 1.0 after Sept. 30, 1995 are eligible to upgrade to the new version at no charge until March 15, 1996.

The Banyan TCP/IP Applications Suite is available in twenty (20) user and fifty (50) user packages. Each package includes a single CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.
