Streettalk was always highly regarded and versions were also available for Windows NT. Streettalk Desktop was a 32-bit Windows client that let users create folders and keep track of shared documents. Banyan also today announced French, French/Canadian, German and Spanish versions of its BeyondMail for Windows product. BeyondMail's advanced electronic mail and workflow capabilities are now available for the UNIX and Macintosh user environment, enabling BeyondMail to be deployed as the common mail solution across the enterprise regardless of client platform A family of desktop and laptop computers that includes the hardware and operating system. For example, the Windows client platform refers to x86 CPUs and some client version of Windows such as Windows 98 or XP. It employs industry-standard SMTP as the mail transport agent Mail Transport Agent - Message Transfer Agent over TCP/IP. This BeyondMail client uses a Motif(R)-based graphical user interface. BeyondMail 2.1 for UNIX supports Hewlett-Packard Corporation HP-UX(R) and Sun Microsystems Solaris(R) for SPARC UNIX operating systems. BeyondMail for Macintosh brings the full power, ease-of-use and configurability of BeyondMail for Windows software. Macintosh users can now take full advantage of Banyan's Intelligent Messaging III messaging service, with an enterprise client/server mail transport and message store. The client version makes full use of the StreetTalk(R) global directory service. This BeyondMail for Macintosh version will soon be available for NetWare MHS networks. Like all other BeyondMail clients, the UNIX and Macintosh versions are easily customized. They feature MailMinders(R), a set of user agents to automate mail-handling functions, and BeyondRules(R), a scripting language that lets users create message-based workflow systems involving routing and notification. The client versions offer several layers of security, including encryption of mailboxes and transmitted messages, and are based on the BeyondWare(TM) architecture that integrates mail with workflow features, such as group scheduling, collaboration, document management and database access. Workflow applications such as the Serial Routing Slip operate identically across and between all platforms.
