Enhanced Client Support

Banyan Enterprise Clients for Windows 95 and Windows NT, support Microsoft's Window system policies which centralize the function of managing desktop configurations. This increased administrative control Direction or exercise of authority over subordinate or other organizations in respect to administration and support, including organization of Service forces, control of resources and equipment, personnel management, unit logistics, individual and unit training, readiness, mobilization,  of desktops reduces the time associated with correcting user configuration errors, resulting in more efficient operations.

The new releases also support Microsoft's Windows user profiles, allowing a user's settings to follow them anywhere on the network. This provides more flexibility by ensuring that there will always be access to a familiar work environment from any workstation. In addition, it allows organizations to cut expenses by sharing computer resources.

Management Tool Upgrades

StreetTalk Explorer, Banyan's graphical network management tool, offers the ability to create and manage network services from a single interface. The latest version, StreetTalk Explorer 1.7, simplifies the process of modifying attributes which contain descriptive information about people and resources in the network. Working with the Banyan Enterprise Clients, this new release can import system policies and user profiles into StreetTalk's attributes, providing the network administrator with greater control and ease of management.

Desktop Application Support

An easy-to-use desktop application, StreetTalk Desktop offers easy access to the information existing within complex networking environments. By leveraging the power of the StreetTalk directory, StreetTalk Desktop enables workgroups to organize and share easily entire folders of both Web and network documents, right from their desktop.

The latest version -- StreetTalk Desktop 1.5 -- offers robust network administration features, including automatic distribution of attributes to a StreetTalk Desktop profile and the ability to copy folders from one user to another. Both features ensure immediate distribution of information to new employees. In addition, StreetTalk Desktop 1.5 provides the capacity to generate usage reports to track and measure the value of various projects. This ability to automatically distribute and track information lowers administration costs and increases productivity.
