Banquet marks St George's Day.

SUNRISE, a residential and dementia care community on Wergs Road, Tettenhall, got into the medieval spirit for a St George's Day St. George's Day is celebrated by several nations of whom Saint George is the patron saint, including England, Portugal, Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Macedonia and the Gora. For England, St. George's Day also marks its National Day.  celebration.

Residents and staff welcomed local people to a medieval-style banquet to mark the story of England's patron saint patron saint

Saint to whose protection and intercession a person, society, church, place, profession, or activity is dedicated. The choice is usually made on the basis of some real or presumed relationship (e.g., St.
 whilst at the same time raising vital funds for St Michael of All Angels Church of Tettenhall.

Diners tucked into a banquet lunch (right), complete with all the traditional medieval trimmings in the main hall, which was decked out in the style of the feudal age.

Guests listened to pre-renaissance music, performed live by a professional harpist, with a court jester providing entertainment later.
